Modified Pantawid Pamilya
Pasali has 700+ Moro, Indigenous and Settler beneficiaries signed in for the MCCT this year. The modified elements of Pasali's MCCT will included a modified Family Development Sessions module - one particularly built for Tri-people families, assisting the families to gain access to possibly clean water, food and income generating intervention, lobby for their school and health needs, and an exit plan (or several kinds of exit plans).
In December 2012, 11 of Pasali Children's Desk new staff plus 5 of its existing staff began validating in Gensan and Palimbang validating the list of beneficiaries approved by DSWD.
The DSWD Region 12 recognized the need to reach these children and partners with several non-profit organizations in the region for the implementation of this MCCT program. Pasali's partner members of the Social Protection Consortium with interventions for children are all MCCT implementers (or slated to become); the Consortium is a partner of Cordaid Netherlands.
Pasali is keen on assisting families to long-term access to public services. Some communities, particularly in San Jose and in Palimbang included in the MCCT are already organizated thanks to projects of Pasali such as Children's Desk and the Farm Support Scheme, which enables a coordinated effort to assist parents to gain sustainable income. So other than the assisting families to receive the stipends for their children, Pasali will assist in making sure that services necessary for compliance are available for the families, that families receive support from social workers, and regular lessons in family development specifically tailored for Tri-people communities, have moments for wholesome fun and bonding, while having options to increase their incomes and even developing plans to ensure their children's continuing schooling.
Stay tuned on Facebook or on Children's Desk's Tumblr for updates on the flow of the grants, the cashing out, and the working out of modified elements and much much more.
