Farmers Alliances for Resource Strengthening & Marketing (FARM)

Farmers Alliances for Resource Strengthening & Marketing (FARM)

Pasali's-FARM project has been operating in 7 municipalities from which 3 are in the province of Sultan Kudarat and 4 in Sarangani. Sequentially, these metropolises are: Kalamansig, Lebak, Palimbang, Alabel, Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum. Forty-two (42) barangays are the areas of concentration: of which 15 are from Sarangani and 27 in Sultan Kudarat.

The project main goal is to sustain livelihoods among poor farming households in Mindanao with the strategic objective of increased production and increase income among farmer households as well as building strong public-private partnerships among the said municipalities and provinces. The target beneficiaries of this project are 3,300 poor farmers with rice, coffee and vegetables as focus commodities.

The project had been implementing for one and a half year already and constant monitoring and evaluation is facilitated among the project sites. Also a mid-term assessment was recently conducted to critically and objectively look into the implementation and experience and assess and review the progress of implementation, the relevance of the interventions, provide early signals of intervention effectiveness, document lessons learned, assess sufficiency of sustainability efforts to date and recommend mid-term strategy revisions as needed. There are variety of methodologies and tools employed throughout the process and this is conducted in a participatory manner. As part of the midterm assessment, there are some notable success stories observed and documented among the farmer beneficiaries.

There are four success stories reported and among these are the farmers from
Kalamansig and Lebak, Palimbang, Alabel and Maasim.
