Child Protection

Children in Conflict with the Law

In 2007 barangay Fatima, San Jose and Tambler signaled alarming problems with Children at Risk (CAR) and in conflict with law (CICL). Child prostitution cases were common. Local authorities registered cases of theft by juvenile delinquents. Gang riots and stow away cases were common as well as non-schooling goers and drop-outs.

Pasali's Children's Desk looks into the welfare of Tri-people children who are victims of abuse and are lead into negative, criminal behavior. Pasali works with local government, police, social services and fellow non-profit organizations in General Santos to provide the proper care for the CICL in barangay Fatima, San Jose and Tambler. Pasali with its partners seeks to redirect CICL back to education, good health and provide a safety net for the protection of their rights. Pasali is also involved in decision-making processes on a city-wide level, since it is a partner of the City Council for the Protection of Children.
