Adopt-a-student Program
The low school rates specially among indigenous people's groups due to long distance from school and high poverty and malnutrition incidence are all driving factors for the establishment of Adopt-a-student program last 2007. The scholarship is open to the most needy tri people children and status of applicants are validated through a house visit by Pasali staff. Scholars avails of educational assistance in tuition and school supplies, sponsored by private individual and business sector partners. They also join Children's Congress and city wide consultations. Quarterly, the Children's desk meets the parents of these scholars for assessment and for a family day. The desk also monitors the grades of these students twice a year.
From 2009 t0 2012, Pasali with its sponsors supported only 80 scholars but because of our leverage to Barangay (main village) Fatima & Tambler, these Barangays allocated budget for more scholarships up to 309 within 3 years.
